Privacy
- Privacy (or confidentiality) means that the information about you and your family is kept private.
- With your written consent, we may exchange information with another professional or agency.
- Patient files are available to all professional staff involved with a patient.
- We are required by law to report suspected child abuse. We will discuss this with you if it becomes a concern.
- If a patient tells us a plan to harm him/herself or someone else, we will take steps to see that people are safe.
- Questions are common about confidentiality and how it applies to our work with children. Please feel free to discuss any concerns with us.
- We will provide a copy of your privacy rights regarding the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
